Infrastructure Engineers, Inc. is currently HIRING. There are openings in many of our offices for the following positions:

Orlando Metropolitan Area

Certified Bridge Inspector Team Leader – Must have a minimum of five years experience in bridge inspection assignments, and have completed a comprehensive training course based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector's Training Manual 90 (NHI Course 130055), OR have certification as a Level III or Level IV Bridge Safety Inspector under the National Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET).

Preferred:

  • State of Florida CBI Certification
  • Scuba certification with underwater inspection experience
  • Must have thorough knowledge of bridge inspection methods and procedures
  • Must have experience with reporting procedures
  • Proficient with computer and associated software
  • Must be willing to travel

Must have to ability to:

  • Lead the work of others
  • Communicate effectively and maintain proper working relationships
  • Utilize various inspection tools and equipment
  • Climb/walk up and down steep embankments
  • Work within confined spaces
  • Perform various methods of material testing
  • Climb overhead structures

In addition to the above requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a physical exam
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to perform tasks while wearing appropriate safety gear (i.e. fall protection harness, head protection, respirator, etc.)
  • Must possess a valid Class E drivers license with good driving record
  • Submit to random drug and alcohol testing

Pre-employment requirements:

  • Submit to a criminal background check
  • Submit to drug and alcohol testing

Pennsylvania

Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) – The Certified Bridge Safety Inspector works with others in the completion of all aspects of structural inspection reports. Responsibilities will include all areas of structural inspection including researching of plans and previous reports, performing field inspections, notifying client of priority deficiencies, updating inspection sketches, and writing final inspection reports in accordance with NBIS regulations and PennDOT standards.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Current Pennsylvania CBSI certification
  • Minimum of five years inspection experience
  • Extensive knowledge of NBIS regulations and PennDOT standards, policies, procedures, and iForms and Inspectech softwares
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to routinely carry 10lbs and up to 40lbs of equipment, traverse ground in and around bridges, including severe slopes, cross and stand in moving water, stretch, bend, crawl, climb, and also sit and work in an office environment using computers and telephones

Senior Structural Engineer – The Senior Structural Engineer/Project Manager supervises and works with others in the completion of structural design projects, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining client relationships. Responsibilities will include all areas of structural engineering design including conceptual engineering studies, preliminary engineering and final design.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Pennsylvania PE
  • A minimum of 10 years (five years post registration) of increasing levels of technical and managerial experience in structural engineering design and/or project management
  • Extensive knowledge of PennDOT and AASHTO design standards, criteria, software, policies and procedures
  • Positive performance in management, business development, and interpersonal skills, and
  • The ability to be in responsible charge of NBIS bridge inspection reports is desirable, but not required.

South Carolina

Transportation Engineer – Infrastructure Engineers is currently seeking a highly qualified professional transportation engineer for the highway/roadway design section in our South Carolina office. The ideal candidate will have over eight years of roadway design experience with a minimum of three years post-registration experience in roadway design. The responsibilities of this position may include roadway design, drainage design, signing and marking designs, report writing, cost estimating, and plans production using Microstation, GeoPak, and SCDOT software. Depending on experience and qualifications, additional duties may include management of multiple projects, client interaction, and proposal development.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • South Carolina Professional Engineer's License at time of application
  • Minimum three years of post registration roadway design experience; prefer SCDOT experience
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Florida, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio

Engineer/Diver – We are looking for a driven, independent person with a Civil Engineering PE and ADC Commercial Diving certification to advance their career in an expanding engineering company.  Must be willing to work in the field, travel often, and able to assume increasing responsibility as the job requires.  Flexibility and time management are key skills, as is the ability to manage field teams and projects while effectively coping with unexpected challenges.

Candidate shall have the following:

  • Taken the FHWA 2-week bridge inspection class
  • Proficient technical writing skills
  • Experience with computer-based report generation and review
  • Be comfortable with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Be able to transfer PE certification throughout the U.S.
  • Be physically fit and able to lift and carry 70lbs and wear up to 90lbs
  • Bridge inspection experience is a bonus

Inspectors – We are seeking exceptional individuals to fill multiple inspection positions. Inspections include bridge and sign inspections, high mast light poles, and may include underwater inspection of bridge structures. Other duties may include vehicle (trucks, boats) and inspection equipment maintenance. Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Pass a standardized test of math, logic, basic grammar, and computer usage
  • Be physically fit, capable of carrying a 75lb. backpack up a 45 degree bridge slope, and able to perform at least 5 pull-ups
  • Be comfortable working around heights and able to swim
  • Be a Non-Smoker
  • Having a good driving record
  • Be willing to travel nationwide
  • Be of good moral character
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age by April 2009
  • Experience as a CBI a plus
