Since 2007, as a natural extension of our inspection services, we have provided professional training for bridge inspectors nationwide through both federal and state agencies. During a period when bridge inspections and training have been at an all-time high, our firm has trained thousands of senior inspectors and team leaders across the country. The knowledge gained through instructing these courses has allowed us to be on the leading edge of the bridge inspection industry as early adopters of emerging technologies.
Infrastructure Engineers provides instructors with superior subject matter expertise and topic-related practical experience, coupled with adult learning experience. Selecting Infrastructure Engineers ensures that regardless of the structural training need—above and below water inspection, hands-on fracture critical inspection, non-destructive testing, structural analysis, load ratings, scour evaluation, or bridge maintenance design—we provide one-stop services with maximum efficiency and value utilizing our experienced and qualified training personnel.

Infrastructure Engineers is providing subject matter expertise for the development of web-based instruction related to the features and benefits of a bridge management system (BMS) and performance measures. The first task included development of a 4-hour web-based training course on bridge management fundamentals to establish common background knowledge, followed by development of an additional 4-hour web-based training that demonstrates the key features and benefits of performance-based management of highway bridges that includes the use of a BMS.

Infrastructure Engineers teaches the FHWA’s three-day course that refreshes skills of practicing bridge inspectors in fundamental visual inspection techniques; reviews background knowledge necessary to understand how bridges function; communicates issues of national significance relative to bridge infrastructure; re-establishes proper rating practices; and reviews professional obligations of bridge inspectors. We have received extremely high marks from participants, many indicating that the reason for the high marks is not only due to the class content and delivery, but the wealth of experience and knowledge that our instructors have in bridge inspection. Our course instruction has been recognized by NHI as a “Course of Excellence” several times since 2007 and six of our instructors have received “Instructor of Excellence” awards for multiple years.
